Bus Stop Kerb
without Channel
(500mm x 500mm x 300mm)
BRT Station Feeder Kerb. A versatile solution for bus stations.
The Accessible Bus Station Kerb (BRT Station Feeder Kerb) is designed higher than standard roadside kerbs to create a more level of access by minimising the gap between the bus and pedestrian access.
This creates a more accessible point of crossing for a variety of mobility aids such as wheelchairs, crutches, walking frames, people pushing trolleys and prosthetics, as well as for other wheeled transport, such as prams and bicycles.
For buses specially adapted for the mobility-impaired, the higher kerb access means more efficient use of kneeling and deploying retractable access ramps as there is a shorter distance to cover.
This feature decreases both the time spent kneeling and deploying ramps and the maintenance required for wear-and-tear on these mechanisms. More efficient access therefore leads to an increased saving of time and money for municipalities and bus companies.
